We believe that independent businesses are the backbone of America’s economy. As a company, we dedicate significant community service time to improving our state’s business environment. This finely tuned business acumen enables us to better serve our clients because we know – from nearly 30 years of our own experiences as well as from our interactions with business leaders – what it takes to build and maintain a strong company.
I serve on the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Leadership Council and recently had the privilege of introducing Congressman John Kline to a meeting of NFIB members. Some politicians believe the public would be better off if government simply took their money and spent it for them. Not John Kline, who is Chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. He believes in empowering small business owners and reducing regulatory burdens. Kline is a strong voice in Congress. He is willing to fight for the principles that the NFIB stands for: the free-market principles that built this nation.
After the NFIB meeting, I arranged for Kline to meet privately with Sheryl Hill of ClearCause Foundation, another cause actively supported by Media Relations. That conversation is helping to open more doors for ClearCause on a national level.
Clients choose Media Relations in part because our staff is so well rounded and well versed in many different areas. Of course, we know product marketing better than anyone else. Beyond that, we know good business principles and practices. We serve on the boards and committees of Sales & Marketing Executives International and the National Association of Women Business Owners. We are also actively involved in Women Presidents’ Organization. We’re constantly interacting with, learning from and coaching other business professionals.
We share what we learn with each other, with our clients and with those in our community who might benefit from that knowledge. It’s what we are, and who we are.
