Public relations in Upscale Magazine is a win for client

As public relations professionals, we know that arranging for the right person to deliver the content is often crucial to getting the perfect placement. Long before summer arrived, I was already reviewing which of our clients had great seasonal stories to tell. Then I set to work pairing the content with just the ideal spokesperson. This article in Upscale Magazine, headlined “Let It Glow”, is a good example of my results.

Upscale Magazine is written for successful African-Americans who want the best in every aspect of their lives. With nearly one million readers, the magazine delivers upbeat, powerful and timely information. To tell our client’s story about how dietary changes that could lead to summer sun protection from the inside out, I coordinated an interview with an African-American expert whose professional credentials gave her immediate credibility.

Finding seasonal angles for clients’ stories can sometimes be challenging but it’s also a lot of fun. And the best part is that there are four different seasons so I’m not locked into the same pitch all year long. We can switch things up. Plus, I can prepare months in advance so that I don’t miss opportunities with those media outlets that have long lead times.
