Summer 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo marketing partner, MnCANN , nets best media story in its eight-year history

Pat Samples, a resident of Brooklyn Center, believes so strongly in the importance of art programs for seniors that she helped found the nonprofit Minnesota Creative Arts and Aging Network (MnCANN) in 2003.

The non-profit and Summer 50+ PrimeTime Living Expo marketing partner was front page news in a Twin City’s local paper.

One of the publicists on our team developed story angles to highlight MnCANN’s program and its importance to the community, then began contacting the media. A Minnesota Sun reporter was thrilled to cover the story. He loved the idea of a local resident who had dedicated her time and even her home to help found MnCANN. The reporter headed to Pat’s house for an interview and the result was one of his most heart-warming stories on volunteerism.

Thanks to the topics and questions our publicist had developed, the reporter had a front page story. After the interview, we followed up with the reporter offering photos to illustrate the feature. The story and photos in the paper’s Brooklyn Center edition and was picked up by other Minnesota Sun editions.

After the article ran, our publicist checked back with Pat Samples. She was thrilled, stating that this expo partnership had provided MnCANN with the best news coverage in its eight-year history. “These expos are really a learning opportunity,” Samples said. During the expo, MnCANN will present interactive art activities as well as artist demonstrations to encourage people 50+ to get involved in the arts. Activities will include music, theater, visual art, creative writing, hat-making and more.
