help businesses during this pandemic

These are unprecedented economic times. In a matter of months, some once-thriving businesses found themselves struggling to survive. Having weathered many economic downturns over our last 30+ years in business, Media Relations Agency CEO Lonny Kocina felt an urgent need to help as many of these companies as possible. He knew the most efficient way to reach the most people was through the media.

Lonny penned two articles filled with advice applicable to businesses of all sizes and in any industry. The first, “In This Sink-Or-Swim Business Environment, Now Is Not The Time For Your Creative Teams To Go Wild,” he discusses why having a clear marketing process is essential. Marketing is about the shortest, fastest, least expensive and most direct route to a lead, a sale and a brand,” he emphasized.

Marketing is a necessity to remind customers why they should be doing business with you, but spending money without a systematic approach is scary,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, too many companies allow the creative tail to wag the dog. They allow their marketing folks to go nuts without giving them clear direction. It’s unfortunate how much money is being wasted and sales missed over something that is relatively easy to solve.Lonny then described the six steps in the Strategically Aimed Marketing (SAM 6®) process outlined in his book, “The CEO’s Guide to Marketing.”

After reading this article, the editors of websites with a national reach: Mimic News. Evolve and Young Upstarts felt compelled to share it with their readers. (Evolve ran it twice!)

In Lonny’s second article, “Is it too late to pandemic-proof your business?” he pointed out: “There are still plenty of actions you can take to stay relevant and visible. You might be tempted to dial back your marketing, but for the long-term health of your company, now’s the time to take action.”

He added, “As people get burned out and begin to turn away from the bad news, the media will be looking for ways to change the narrative so they can hang onto their audience share. We’ve arranged tens of thousands of product news stories over the last 30 years so we’ve seen this demand for good news stories to offset the bad ones many times before.” This second article has run in numerous national media outlets.
