Even though our company, Media Relations Agency, has arranged tens of thousands of media stories over the last 25 years, I’m still amazed at the power of publicity when we experience it firsthand. We get to feel the uptick in business that our clients receive just about every time we arrange a media placement for them.

Two weeks ago a nice article that one of our publicists arranged appeared in the Minneapolis Star Tribune featuring our Internet company, Checkerboard Strategic Web Development. The article – which also appeared on the newspaper’s website – featured an interview with my son Jason who runs Checkerboard. As soon as the story ran, we immediately blogged about it on our website, posted the link on our Facebook page and tweeted about it to our Twitter followers.

It’s shocking how many people stopped me, Jason and many of our employees to say they saw the article. Within a week, Checkerboard had signed a new client, sent out three proposals, and has more companies to get back to. In addition, Jason was quick to point out that when he gets publicity it’s a great opportunity to strike up conversations with both clients and prospects.

That’s the power of one media story. Imagine what could happen to your business if our publicists were on the phone arranging stories every month for you. And remember, with our popular Pay Per Interview Publicity®, you only pay for results.

Because we arrange so much publicity—and sell it by the story—we can quickly assess how much coverage is available to you and what it would cost. For an estimate, call Heather Champine, our VP of Media Production, at 612-789-7220.

Here is a link to the story and here is a link to our blog which shows how our writer capitalized on this opportunity by adding details that were not in the story itself.
