    Radio interviews can go quickly. The last thing you want to happen is to hang up the phone and THEN remember something important that you should have said.
    We advice all of our clients to make a list of key messages.
    Create a bulleted list of the most important points you want to mention during the interview. Those will likely include your website and phone number, as well as some of the primary characteristics that differentiate your product/service from the competition. Keep your list brief. Avoid writing out entire sentences because reading from a script can sound too rehearsed during the actual interview.
    Prepare to get your message across as succinctly as possible while still keeping your answers interesting.
    If you have been provided examples of what the reporter may ask, practice your responses by speaking them into your own voicemail. As you listen to your recording afterward, ask yourself: Are your responses on point? Did you provide interesting details to capture the audience’s attention? Did you veer off point?

    If you are particularly engaging, your host may opt to extend your interview or invite you back.
