Latest MarketSmart Academy class demonstrates how to conduct engaging presentations

Have you ever wondered how to inject more energy and enthusiasm into your presentations or speeches? Local business professionals got to practice some helpful techniques during our MarketSmart Academy class, Presentations that WOW your audience presented by learning and development consultant Sheila Krejci.

Knowing how to lead an effective, engaging presentation is a valuable tool for any business professional. But especially if you aren’t asked to do it often, giving a speech or seminar can feel overwhelming. Whether your goal is to sell a product, or conduct a training session, you want your audience to stay engaged, remember your key concepts and be motivated to take the next step(s). During this MarketSmart Academy class, Krejci showed attendees how to become a more entertaining presenter by:

• Making eye contact with people in all parts of the room

• Never doing for participants what they can do for themselves

• Providing opportunities to move around

She stressed the importance of making sure you are using training techniques that will work best for the audience that you have, not the audience you thought you might have. To demonstrate this, she asked attendees to stand and line up in order, from the person who has done the most presenting to the person who has done the least. That enabled her to see our average skill level, and tailor her training to our needs.
