Advice from Jason Kocina
Here are five things to remember when creating your Facebook page
1. Write your positioning statement based on how you would like your fans to explain your company to their friends. Focus on your strengths and what makes you different from your competition. Review it before each post.
2. Know your customers: What are their interests, what are their pains and what makes content valuable or entertaining to them?
3. Develop an editorial calendar and post often. Plan different types of content that will enable you to post daily such as testimonials or new projects you have completed. Look for content ideas in things that you do during your business day: articles you are reading, upcoming events, etc. Refer back to your editorial calendar if you ever spend longer than 10 minutes trying to find a post idea. Don’t forget to look to your fans for ideas, such as answering questions. Remember to review your positioning statement before posting the answer to your feed.
4. Post quality is measured by interactions with your posts. Present content that spurs discussion and finish your posts with a question.
5. Balance your calls to action with your valuable content. Explaining new product lines or your portfolio is part of your business.
